Cenntennial Youth Baseball/Softball Association Opening Day – Colorado

“Heroes Alliance Colorado’s first event was supporting the children and families at the Centennial Youth Baseball/ Softball Association opening day festivities on May 18th.

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Wolverine suited up around 9:00 am were ready to go. From 9:00 until about 11:00, the heroes mingled with the crowd, took pictures, visited with children (and happy adults) and interacted with the teams. A little after 11:00 “Dinger” the Colorado Rockies mascot showed up and we had a photo op with him. This actually provided us with a great opportunity to speak with his “handler”. They were very interested in having the HA contact the Rockies Office to talk about possible charitable events that we could work together.

About 12:30 the crowds started to disperse to the different fields for games. With little activity they decided it would be OK to “stand down”. After that, the plain clothes members helped with balloon distribution, even sketching some heroes on them!

It was a great inaugural event for the team, and the first of many out of Heroes Alliance Colorado!”
